Silicon Carbide Coating (spraying)
Silicon Carbide is a ceramic compound, that is chemically inert and very hard. We have two coatings available, one which is stable up to medium temperatures and withstands up to 1000 °C on air/in oxidizing atmosphere and one which withstands up to 1400°C on air/in oxidizing atmosphere. The hardness of SiC gives the coating high resistivity against abrasion.
Main advantages
- extends lifetime of graphite parts
- provides a hard surface, resistant to abrasion
- withstands cyclic use
- above 700°C forms pores-sealing coating
