History

The CGT Carbon GmbH was founded in June 2010, based on over 40 years of experience of the initiator Hans Hackl, former founder of the companies Carbon Industrie-Produkte GmbH and Carbon Mechanik GmbH.

After his 10-year involvement in SGL Carbon Bonn, formerly Ringsdorff Werke, he founded the Carbon Industrie-Produkte GmbH until the sale to the Japanese company Tokai Carbon and his retirement in 2009. In 2010 CGT Carbon first focused on trading transactions specially in the Solar sector, since 2012 CGT Carbon is also mechanically equipped so that the areas of foundries, sintering sector, furnace industry, mechanical industry, and the EDM sector can be supplied with graphite-finished products.

  • Hans Hackl is employed by SGL Carbon (Ringsdorff Werke Bonn) for 10 years.

  • Founding of Carbon Industrie-Produkte GmbH by Hans Hackl in Hennef – Bröl.

  • Relocation of Carbon Industrie-Produkte GmbH into office building to Hennef (Sieg).

  • Establishment of Carbon Mechanik GmbH and the beginning of the graphite machining in Sankt Augustin – Buisdorf.

  • Establishment of the factory building in Buchholz-Mendt.

  • Official opening of the office building of the Carbon Industrie-Produkte GmbH in Buchholz Mendt.

  • Acquisition of additional industrial land and extensions of the premises in Mendt.

  • Sale of Carbon Industrie-Produkte GmbH and Carbon Mechanik GmbH to the Japanese company Tokai Carbon.

  • Withdrawal of Hans Hackl as Managing Director of the Carbon Industrie-Produkte GmbH.

  • Founding of the CGT Carbon GmbH by Roland Hackl.

  • Purchase of 8000m² industrial site in Asbach, as well as construction of a warehouse and workshop.

  • Purchase of various machines for graphite machining.

  • Acquisition of two more machines for manufacturing.

  • Founding of the CGT Karbon Ltd. Şti. In Bursa, Turkey by Roland Hackl and Ali Levent Iyici.

  • Purchase of three further machines and planning of a further manufacturing hall of 820m².

  • Construction and completion of an additional manufacturing – and storage hall, purchase of further machines.

  • Planning of a new hall.

  • Construction of a new hall with 1500m² and purchase of 5 additional CNC machining centres.

  • Partial acquisition of the company Thermic Edge Coatings Ltd., as well as foundation of Thermic Edge Europe GmbH as a joint venture.
